Stacey Dash slams Oprah for Trayvon comparison

American film star Stacey Dash has criticised Oprah Winfrey for her remarks about Trayvon Martin.

Oprah compared the killing of Trayvon to Emmett Till, who died in 1955. Emmett was reportedly murdered in Mississippi after flirting with a white woman.

The 14-year-old's body was found mutilated in a river, showing signs of brutal torture before being shot through the head.

Dash, 46, took issue with Oprah drawing parallels between the cases, and used a quote from Malcolm X to illustrate her dismay.

She tweeted a link to an article about Oprah's comparison with the words: "If you aren't careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.' ~ Malcolm X."

She later added: "Shame on you, Oprah."

Dash is known to be fond of expressing her political views on the social media site – before the 2012 US presidential election, she backed Mitt Romney describing him as "the only choice for your future".

She has also been a vocal tweeting critic of Barack Obama and has commented on the crisis in Syria.

The Clueless star continues to show geopolitics and teenage killings are not taboo subjects for people who are paid to learn movie lines.
