'Smoggy' the 50p man
Mystery Benefits Street star 'the 50p man' has reportedly been offered a job as a reward for the kindness he displayed on the show.
Warm-hearted 'Smoggy' was seen selling cut-price household essentials to hard-up residents in James Turner Street - but gave them away free to some of the most at need.
His caring nature appears to have paid off after he received backing on social network sites and tonight there were reports the mystery man had landed a new job.
Thousand took to Twitter to express their support for the reformed ex-prisoner, with '50p man' trending on the social media site.
A Facebook page, called 50p Man Smoggy, was 'liked' by 1,700 people, many of whom posted glowing comments.
He also won over celebrity fans including London dance troupe Rudimental. The band wrote on Twitter: "I challenge you to watch #benefitsstreet and not be inspired by the 50p man! What a legend!"
